How the finance numbers are handled

Money in is total receipts reported by all authorized committees shown on the linked FEC candidate page. The category rows identify individual contributions, PAC/other committee contributions, party committees, candidate money and transfers from other authorized committees. Money out is total disbursements; transfers out and refunds are shown separately. Cash and debt are end-of-period balances.

Top contributors group current-cycle itemized contributions of $500 or more on Form 3 line 11 by the reported contributor name and location; transfers are excluded, and the FEC-reported aggregate is used for individuals when available. Top expenses use the FEC's current-cycle Schedule B totals by reported payee. Names are displayed as filed, and payment-card processors may appear as payees when the filing does not identify an ultimate vendor in the aggregated record.

Congressional campaigns report to the Federal Election Commission. The New York State Board of Elections database was checked for candidate-linked state/local records, but unrelated namesake committees and prior state accounts are not rolled into federal totals. These numbers are filing data, not an endorsement or audit.
